Honey Cakes!

Image
Today's celebration was the making of Honey Cakes! Ms. Georgia was a superstar - AGAIN - in coordinating this wonderful event.  The children learned about measurement, pouring, mixing, taking turns (the patience to wait & the willingness to let go once your turn is over), and then reflecting on the recipe as Ms. Georgia went over the list to make sure everything was included.   Please let these kids help you in the kitchen - they love it and are so proud to help. We used our fine motor skills and listening ears, AND we took turns pouring and stirring. Tomorrow we will form the dough into circles and bake it for a special treat.  Then we went to our first Shabbat Assembly of the year. The kids loved the music and had special wands with ribbons to wave. We used our gross motor skills to climb the riser, dance, and wave the ribbons.  Next we went to our outdoor classroom to exercise our five senses.  The last of the tomatoes in the garden boxes were very tasty and a nice mid-morning snack.  And of course we had just the best time in the classroom - learning and having fun with friends!
