Mud Puddle Fun

 We finally got to use our outdoor gear! We chose to go to the garden, rather than the playground- and we were so lucky that we did! We found amazing things in the garden- A downspout, a huge puddle of water... and various objects that transport water well! We thoroughly enjoyed today's weather! We also worked on some fine motor skills today- our budding authors really impressed us! Here's a fun fact, earlier this year the Smithsonian was able to identify a genetic trait that may indicate whether someone is left-handed or right-handed! Which one are you? Which one is your little one? Lastly, we enjoyed our box exploration- today focusing on being under the box.  Altogether, an excellent day, punctuated with a much-needed rainy-day nap! What's in your box?

 In today's "not a box", we discovered that boxes could be hiding places:  and comfortable places to sit.  We also asked the children what they are putting in their box as they drew pictures. We received lots of ideas!  Some of them included their friends, Ms. Shelby, family members, letters, animal sounds, and themselves. These will all be hung up in the hallway art gallery for Family & Friends day, so you can see what fantastic imaginations our students have.  Thanks to our generous parents, we received off of the wish list some water reveal boards, that are reusable and can easily be "painted" with water. The kids loved this activity!  And as it's Wednesday, we have our weekly time on the bike track. We are seeing about half of our class pedaling so we are putting out more of our "big kid" bikes.
